Dr. John Millard (Millard Plastic Surgery Center) and Dr. David Broadway (Broadway Plastic Surgery) of the Advanced Body Sculpting (ABS) Institute hosted another wonderfully successful training course this weekend in Denver, Colorado. It was a Vaser Advanced Users Training Course. This weekend’s course consisted of 15 Physicians’ from Alabama, Massachusetts, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, and Minnesota. This liposuction training course was offered to give additional training to already skilled Physicians in the art of Liposuction or as it is referred to utilizing the Vaser Technology, Liposelection. We had a large group of highly skilled doctors and the exchange of information and ideas amongst the experienced and intelligent group was fantastic. This course is a great way of preparing Doctors to learn the highly sought after technique of Vaser Hi Def, which is also taught by Dr. Millard, Dr. Broadway, and Dr. Hoyos. It was upon me. The dreaded High School reunion, and it was a big one. I was well prepared for my 40th birthday when it arrived. I had spent my 39th year dieting, exercising and injecting. When I opened the email from Classmates.com and was reminded of our planned reunion, I wondered how this date had come upon me so quickly, and how I could have forgotten it. I hadn’t budgeted for the little nip and tucks I had thought about doing prior to this reunion. I also hadn’t allowed myself a lot of time for recovery. I thought about what procedure would fit my budget. I was willing to skip my twice daily trip to Starbucks. What procedure would give me the most bang for my buck by shaving years off my looks, be minimally invasive, and require only a few days for recovery? Dr. Millard had the answer. Smartlipo. He suggested sculpting my jaw line and my arms, two areas of a woman’s body which are considered areas of beauty, but areas I had begun to hide rather than accentuate. Not only was the fat to be removed, but the added benefit would result in overall tighter skin tissue. And I could go to my reunion looking like myself still, only younger and firmer. And on budget!

Back to the double wave…
Arms!
When Caroline Kennedy first announced she was throwing her hat into the ring to run for Hillary’s Senate seat, Caroline was filmed by the press wearing a sleeveless dress. I’m sure it was a very expensive designer dress, but all I noticed was her “double wave”.
Last week on the t.v. show Brothers and Sisters, Sally Field’s character was lamenting grow older. She stated, “I now think twice before putting on a sleeveless dress”.
At Barack Obama’s inauguration, Mary J. Blige looked stunning until she raised her arm at the finish of her song; the Double Wave.

We had a wonderful turnout on Tuesday night for Dr. Millard and Paula’s Happy Hour at Fish City Grill. Hearts Across the Miles could not have chosen a better restaurant. General Manager Patrick Langbein and his staff outdid themselves with their graciousness, even though they had to navigate drinks and food through the elbow to elbow crowd. Patrick said he was more than happy to write a big check to Hearts Across the Miles. The event was attended by the staff of Millard Plastic Surgery , Dr. David Broadway, and Skin Essentials and bod:evolve staff members, family, friends, patients, business associates, as well as doctors and their staff. We all had such a great time that many of us stayed until closing enjoying the delectable seafood, and of course the Purple Heart Martinis. As Dr. Millard graciously signed the bill, he mentioned same time same place for our “Second Annual Happy Hour in Support of our Deployed Military”.
“Thank you Sharilyn, you were a pleasure to have at the restaurant. Please tell the Dr. his generosity is an inspiration to us all. We will have the final numbers in by the end of the week. Thanks again for everything!”

My Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation Story… continued
Hello Again! To recap my story, I am a 33 yr old (soon to be 34!) woman, living in Denver, Colorado. I had my first baby 15 months ago, and gained 75 pounds with my pregnancy (Yikes!). I have now lost 65lbs and I am no longer breast feeding my daughter. I loved being pregnant, and I loved breast feeding- but I hate what the weight gain then weight loss and breast feeding did to my breasts. So, I am scheduling a Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation with Dr. John Millard. The only catch is, I started lightly smoking a few months back- and I have to be sober from nicotine for 3 months before Dr. Millard will operate on Me.
Well, I am pleased to announce that on February 2 , 2009 it will be 2 weeks that I have been sober from nicotine! Now, I only have 2 ½ more months to go until I get my beautiful breasts! I am getting so excited! As I mentioned in a previous blog, I am very much afraid of any surgical procedures. However, I was surfing the Millard Plastic Surgery website and I came across a 3D Animated Program that walks you through every step of your procedure in order to to help you to better understand the surgery- http://www.millardplasticsurgery.com/understand.html. Wow! I swear the lady with her before breasts looks exactly like my breasts, and I LOVE the after results for her. I know it’s only animation- but I am very confident that Dr. Millard will get that result for me!
I am going to make an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Millard in 2 more weeks. That will be 1 month of nicotine sobriety then, and only 2 months until my surgery! I will post pictures when they take them at my consultation visit.

Another successful Smartlipo Course by Dr. Millard!
This weekend, most people did what they love to do; they relaxed and watched the Super Bowl. John A. Millard, MD did what he loved best this weekend as well- he taught 8 Doctors the Fundamentals of Laser Lipolysis. 7 of these Doctors were from the United States, and 1 came all the way from London. It was a fantastic course! Dr. Millard is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to liposuction and body sculpting. Dr. Millard is president of the Advanced Body Sculpting Institute, a training company that trains Doctors from all over the world in the art of Liposuction.
If I was looking for a surgeon for liposuction, I would definitely want the best of the best- and that is Dr. Millard. I would want to know where my surgeon would go if he or she wanted to have lipo done on themselves. I can tell you that Dr. Millard does a lot of liposuction and body sculpting on other Surgeons. To me, that is a true testament to his impeccable reputation for being a Top Surgeon for Liposuction.
