Denver Spitting Stitches
Cosmetic surgery can usually be done by using dissolvable sutures. This is a nice way to create a less noticeable scar and keep from having to remove any stitches. One downfall of dissolvable sutures, is the fact that there is a possibility of the stitches “spitting out”. This means the stitch makes its way to the surface of your skin (at your incision) before your body absorbs it. This is actually not a bad thing as the stitch simply needs to be removed. If you have a spitting stitch, it means your healthy because your body heals faster than the stitch can be absorbed. Every now and then, a spitting stitch can become infected. Once it is pulled out, in most cases, you can continue to heal normally.
