Dr. Millard and BodEvolve Open in Cherry Creek North!
This satellite office is a convenient location for Boulder, North Denver, and Cherry Creek patients. We see patients at this office every other week for consultations. After doing the initial consultation, the patients would then need to visit our Lone Tree location in order to continue with appointments before and after surgery. At some point, we hope to be set up to see pre and post-operative appointments at the Cherry Creek facility. Most commonly, we see patients for liposuction, breast augmentation and tummy tucks at this location. We welcome you to come and visit us at this location should you be in the area.

Cosmetic Surgery and Sun Exposure in Denver
Exposing your surgical areas to the sun can cause damage. Following plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery, it is important not to expose your body to the sun after surgery. The surface area in which has been treated becomes much more susceptible to a sunburn then it normally is. We advise patients to stay out of the sun for at least 6 weeks following liposelection, breast augmentation, tummy tucks, and other various procedures. After this time frame, it is still important to cover any incision sites (scars) with sunscreen and preferably band aids and/or clothing, for at least a year. This helps prevent any hyper-pigmentation of the scar/s, helping it fade to white.

Choosing a breast implant size can be the toughest decision next to choosing the best Plastic Surgeon for your surgery. I can speak from experience when I say that I was overwhelmed at the thought of having to choose what size I wanted to be after my Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation with Dr. John Millard. Dr. Millard and his staff were amazingly helpful in educating me to make my choice on breast implant size. During my consultation they gave me rice bags to take home and try on and wear around the house. Rice bags form to the breast really well and give a realistic idea of what a particular implant size will look and feel like. We also took picturesof my breasts and using a computer program- we were able to simulate in 3D what different implant sizes would like like on my body. I was also given instructions to search the Internet for pictures of breasts that I might like to have. Dr. Millard can then look at my breasts, and then look at the pictures of breasts that I found on the Internet, and help me choose the right implant size for me.
I had my surgery in April, and I can’t begin to desccibe how pleased I am with my results! Dr. Millard is an incredible Plastic Surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a Plastic Surgeon who will get them an Outstanding result.
If you would like more information on breast surgery with Dr. Millard, or any other surgery that he offers, please send his office an e-mail at info@millardplasticsurgery.com or call them at (303) 792-5665.

Finally, we have the technology to transfer fat from out “problem” areas to our breasts! Something us women have been waiting for, years. We used to joke about it, asking why can’t we take fat from our love handles and transfer it up here, to our breasts? It’s a fairly new technique in which we are still perfecting. Dr. Millard injects fat, more than necessary, into the breasts because not all of the fat will “take”. Typically, your breasts would be taped after surgery for a couple of weeks and then into a support bra for a few months. It is important to keep the newly planted fat as still as possible for about three months. Hence the reason you’ll wear a sport bra for so long.
This technique allows women to have fuller breasts without having implants. Although, the gel implants are FDA approved and are said to be safe, some women simply prefer not to have a foreign body for breast enlargement.

After cosmetic surgery, it is quite common to notice asymmetries. What people don’t realize is that our bodies are asymmetrical to begin with, we just become more aware post-operatively. We use the term “sisters not twins” when referring to breast or opposite sides of the body. Dr. John Millard will do his best to make the body more “even” or symmetrical, but it is impossible to make each side perfectly even. After surgery, patients tend to obsess about the area of the body that was treated and point out all the details. This is one of the many reasons why it is so important to take pre-operative photographs. Photographs will remind the patient what they looked like before surgery as it is not unusually for someone to forget what they looked like prior to surgery. It is important to remember that cosmetic surgery is intended to make the body more cosmetically appealing and symmetrical, but will never make it “perfect”.
Please visit our photo gallery for before and after photos of breast augmentation, breast reductions, and breast lifts (matoplexy).

April 14th, 2009 Dr. John Millard
I can’t believe that my breast augmentation and breast lift surgery is FINALLY about to happen! I am scheduled to have surgery with Dr. Millard in 8 days on April 22nd. My personality would be to be nervous about the surgery- but for some reason I am not nervous at all. Just super excited! Dr. Millard and I have decided to do a smaller implant with my breast augmentation than I previously thought I would get. I am going to get a 225cc-250cc implant. The reason I am going a little smaller than I previously had planned on, is because I have so much breast tissue. When he does my breast lift, I will get more volume- therefore I will not need a 350cc implant like I had thought. I went and get all my lab work done, filled my prescriptions and got a baseline mammogram (just for good measure and future mammograms, since I have never had one). All I have left to do is wait! I had Smartlipo on my hips and flanks done back in February of 2009. That was such an easy surgery; I sure hope this one goes as smoothly! I will post before and after pictures a few months post op.
If you are thinking of having plastic Surgery, look no further than John A. Millard, MD. Based just outside of Denver, Colorado he specializes in Body Contouring, including Vaser Hi Def, Liposuction, SmartLipo, and LipoSelection. As well as Breast Augmentations and Breast Lifts or Mastopexy.
“I’m so happy I had Dr. Millard do my implants. I’m 61 – It’s never too late!”

My Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation Story… continued
Hello Again! To recap my story, I am a 33 yr old (soon to be 34!) woman, living in Denver, Colorado. I had my first baby 15 months ago, and gained 75 pounds with my pregnancy (Yikes!). I have now lost 65lbs and I am no longer breast feeding my daughter. I loved being pregnant, and I loved breast feeding- but I hate what the weight gain then weight loss and breast feeding did to my breasts. So, I am scheduling a Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation with Dr. John Millard. The only catch is, I started lightly smoking a few months back- and I have to be sober from nicotine for 3 months before Dr. Millard will operate on Me.
Well, I am pleased to announce that on February 2 , 2009 it will be 2 weeks that I have been sober from nicotine! Now, I only have 2 ½ more months to go until I get my beautiful breasts! I am getting so excited! As I mentioned in a previous blog, I am very much afraid of any surgical procedures. However, I was surfing the Millard Plastic Surgery website and I came across a 3D Animated Program that walks you through every step of your procedure in order to to help you to better understand the surgery- http://www.millardplasticsurgery.com/understand.html. Wow! I swear the lady with her before breasts looks exactly like my breasts, and I LOVE the after results for her. I know it’s only animation- but I am very confident that Dr. Millard will get that result for me!
I am going to make an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Millard in 2 more weeks. That will be 1 month of nicotine sobriety then, and only 2 months until my surgery! I will post pictures when they take them at my consultation visit.

Breast augmentation in Denver involves the technique by which a woman’s breasts are made larger. It improves irregularities, size, shape and appearance. Breast Augmentation is performed by using an implant, either saline or silicone. The implant can be placed under the chest muscle (pectoralis major muscle) or above the muscle. Dr. John A. Millard, a board certified plastic surgeon in Denver, also specializes in breast Liposuction in which he uses a combination of liposuction and shaping techniques.
